Two reasons people call

Which one is you?

An old rusted well cap standing in a dried-out lawn beside a house

Existing well

My well is giving out.

Sputtering faucets, weak showers, water that comes up gritty in August. We deepen the well you have or drill you a new one, down to where the water actually is.

A freshly graded building lot with survey stakes and a gravel driveway

New build

I'm building on bare land.

The house, the lender and the septic permit are all waiting on water. We walk your lot, check the setbacks, file the state permit and get you on the schedule.

The three questions

What everybody asks us first.

Straight answers, before you ever sign anything.

  1. How deep will it go?

Nobody can see underground. We can read the state logs for the wells next to yours, and we tell you straight what they show.

  2. What will it cost?

We price by the foot, one rate in rock and one for cased hole, and we walk you through both on site. No surprise line at the end.

We price by the foot, and we put our rates in public. No surprise line at the end.

    per foot in rock
    per foot cased
  3. Will you call me back?

Mitch answers the phone. If he is on the rig, you get a text right away and a call when he is off it.

How a well job goes

Six steps from bare dirt to water at the tap.

Press and hold. Let go and it backs out.

  1. 1

    Site visit.

Thirty minutes on your property. We check access for the rig and the setbacks from your lines and your septic.

  2. 2

    Well logs and a plan.

We pull the records for nearby wells and give you the likely depth range.

  3. 3

    Permit.

We file with the Idaho Department of Water Resources. You don't chase paperwork.

  4. 4

    Drill and case.

Steel casing through the loose ground, then open hole in rock until we hit water worth keeping.

  5. 5

    Flow test.

We measure the gallons a minute and it goes on your well log.

  6. 6

    Pump and hookup.

Our pump contractor sets the pump and gets water to the house. We coordinate it so nothing falls through the gap.

That's a well.

We don't have the prettiest equipment, but it works every day.

Mitch Pluid, Driller

Our rigs are paid for and kept running. That is how a family outfit keeps a well affordable: you aren't paying off somebody's brand new truck.

Questions

Asked and answered.

Do I need a permit to drill a well in Idaho?

Yes. Idaho requires a well construction permit before drilling starts, and your driller files it. For a house well we send the state a start card before we begin.

Do I need a water right for a house well?

Usually not. Idaho exempts domestic wells that use up to 13,000 gallons a day and water up to half an acre. Bigger irrigation or ag wells are a different conversation, and we'll tell you which one you're in.

How deep are wells around here?

It changes a lot from one property to the next. That's why we read the logs for the wells around yours before we quote.

Do you install pumps?

Mitch drills the well. A pump contractor we trust sets the pump, and we line it up so you are not left finding one yourself.

How long does drilling take?

Once you're on the schedule, most house wells are drilled in days, not weeks. We'll give you a real date when we set it.

Can you deepen my old well?

Often, yes. Sometimes a new well beside it is the better call. We'll look at it and tell you which, and why.
